Denver will represent the Summit in the NCAAs. They will travel to California to play #3 seed and host, Stanford:

South Dakota, with a #38 RPI and only two season losses, narrowly missed an at-large bid to the NCAAs. They were in the “first four out” group. Bummer.

They did get an auto-bid to the NIVC tournament, and will host the first two rounds:

Purdue Fort Wayne recieved an at-large bid to the NIVC as well, and will play at Bowling Green.

For the NIVC, there are initially 32 auto-bids, but if the teams decline they go to at-large bids to fill in the bracket. There are two criterea: 500 or better overall record, and they offer bids to the highest remaining RPI teams.

That means that Omaha had to have turned down their bid. NDSU also had a higher RPI, but not a winning overall record. Too bad Omaha chose not to participate.

Stanford was probably a worst case matchup for the Pios. They were swept, but competed well. They held early set leads twice.

Fort Wayne also played well, but lost in 4:

The Yotes beat Central Michigan in 4, then swept UNLV in Vermillion.

They will also host the quarterfinal match against UT Arlington on Tuesday night.
